Indigo sky

Beautyful was the sky this afternoon so i dyed an indigo cloth. This is from a maddervat i made. The samples i made before where much darker but then i used cotton and up here you see very thin linnen.

  

And as always Venus my little helper inspects everything i do. Its very colorful over here these days.  In the dyepot below there's walnut with silkyarns for further stitching on the Goddess cloth. I hope to finish it 4 weeks from here.

Zonnenschijn en kleur......gelukkiger kan ik niet zijn. Ik heb inmiddels twee verschillende indigokuipen gemaakt, 1-2-3 en een indigo/meekrap. De kleuren zijn mooi en ze werken allebei heel verschillend. Alle eucalyptus prints zijn klaar en de laatste kleur voor nu is donkerbruin van walnoot en ijzer.
Het wordt opschieten want buiten zie ik het fluitenkruid al zijn best doen wat betekent dat het groene seizoen er aankomt....................

1-2-3 Indigo

i'm dyeing indigo ....... an indigo workshop with  Glennis . This is a 1-2-3 or indigo, lime, fructose vat. The colors are a little bleak so i hope the next vat will give me some darker ones.
You see from upper left to right coton,  linnen.  Down left silk and right  wool.

Dit zijn de eerste staaltjes van de indigo workshop met Glennis . Dit is een  indigo vat met fructose, misschien wel het eenvoudigste dat er is maar de kleuren blijven te bleek voor mijn smaak dus ik ga nog wel een tijdje door totdat ik bereik wat ik voor ogen heb.

All kinds of stitching

although i have been stitching a lot lately  there's much  more to do on the Goddess cloth. This is the way i'm working on it. On felted pieces i stitch different kinds of textiles. Silk, cotton linnen or gauze. Then it goes in the dyepot and later its stitched again.

here's the stitching on the inside

above you see the yarn i use for stitching. a beautiful mixture of 70% silk and 30% cotton from Australian Beautiful Silks. It comes in creamcolor but i put a handful in every dyebath i make and so i have all colors to stitch with.

Eigenlijk is het wel jammer dat ik nog niets van mijn werk kan laten zien omdat ik er al zo lang mee bezig ben, maar toch, een klein beetje dan. Het gaat als volgt: ik maak vilten lappen die ik met allerlei verschillende stofjes erop borduur. Dan worden ze geverfd en straks weer aan elkaar geborduurd.

Almost a valentines heart

  

searching for a valentinesheart i found this. Eucalyptus c. is not really heartshaped but comes very close.

 Both of these prints i made years ago but still love them and the last foto..........you'll have to search for the heart, its so little. Took this years ago in a museum in Lodz.

Dit zijn genoeg rode hartjes voor vandaag. Wees lief voor wie je lief is.....het hoeft ook niet zo uitbundig te zijn maar spreek het uit ...............................en ik hou van jullie!

All kinds of friends

Lately i hear/read people talking of friends, all kinds of friends. Blog/FB/Internetfriends and how real they are. I dont know of your friends but must tell you.... some of my very best friends i met via the internet. Allmost impossible to have met them without it.  Let me introduce you to them..........

This is my dear friend Y. Overwhelmed by her emotions now and then but always by her creativity that is to much for her. It is for some people. Y. i love you........... I did the painting myself.

This is D. the beautiful, always dressed in the most special silk/felt garments. In our latest conversation she said: " dont i ask to much from you?"     What you ask my dear is nothing  compared to  what you give! D. i love you...............

 

They  came to celebrate my birthday 11-11-11 a day i'll never forget and brought ecodyed presents, some of them  i'll use in my Goddess project. 

Internet friends..........i love them. Next time i tell you about international friends.

Een pakje uit Frankrijk was de aanleiding tot deze blogpost. De tranen lopen over mijn wangen van geluk over mijn vriendinnetjes. Niemand gaat mij ooit nog vertellen dat E-friends niet belangrijk zijn. Voor mij wel, dat kunnen jullie hier zien. Volgende keer meer over internationale vriendschappen.
