she went away........

very softly she blew her beautiful soul to the wind and we are going to bury her body in
Mother Earth as she wanted it. I made this foto of Kiky three years ago as we had our last sistersday. Shortly after she got sick, the tumor in her brain was formed as a star.........the star she was.
She was a very special woman, an artist, translater,  friend of humans, animals and especially nature. She translated the 13 original clanmothers of Jamie Sams and held workshops in her tipi and paradise garden on this theme for years. I was happy to join and learn from my sister. She went away this morning and i dont know how it feels to live on without her...............

Thomas Horst was in the Netherlands to show us how we can make felted coats. 3 Wonderful days with a bunch of great woman. Hard work but lots of fun. Next week he will show his works in Amsterdam fashionweek.

a book for the Goddess

my work "return of the Goddess" is not only a cloth but also a book. Made out of 13 small books, one for every moon. I printed with plants and flowers on aquarelpaper. My place in the library was to small to show this whole book so i had to take it apart and show half of it in my room in the old convent Regina Mundi wich is a very beautiful place but i had preferred to show it as one piece.

Goddess cloth in Regina Mundi
I could never have thougt of a more appropriate place to show this cloth as Regina Mundi ...queen of the world...
Both sides of the cloth on a branch of birch wich is the tree of the Goddess. Jan found it for me in the little paradise as i took care of Kiky.

Detailfoto's must be for next time as blogger wont let me................

a room with a view

I was very happy with this room to show my work in the old convent Regina Mundi in Genk. Its really smal (every student got his/her own little room) but has a good atmosphere. So good to have sons, sometimes they'r really useful. I rather stay with my feet on the ground. Next time i show pictures of my work.

et voila

I did it, finished five years of textile art at academy Genk...............
and i'm proud of myself because it was far from easy because of the  3 hour drive each time and i hate driving during darkness. Well, its done now and i'm showing a little of my work in the library Genk. https://www.facebook.com/bibliotheekgenk

We had a wonderful opening with singing by Onashita, interesting speakers who told us how great we are and champagne....................... !
My theme was/is  ... return of the Goddess... because she was gone for ages, only male gods around and i feel she's slowly returning to our world. I wanted to honour Her with a book (made of 13 little booklets, one for every moon, and a cloth. Only some parts of the book are shown in the library but from june 16 on the cloth and the other paper works are shown in the old convent Regina Mundi. Will show lots more pictures then. Above i show some pages..........ecoprints on heavy aquarelpaper.
