This is soto, also called ellendesoep, or miserysoup .....

If your misereble from flu, living in the US and your friend lives in Holland too far away to cook for you, you could........
 prepare a little and lay down, prepare some more and lay down again. This will take time but after a while your soup will be ready, with a wonderful flavor and will make you healthy again.

Ingredients: 4 large chicken legs ( leg and thigh ) , 2.5 liters of water , 4 chicken stock cubes , 2 shallots , 3 cloves of garlic , 1 red pepper , 1 large leek , green beans 200 grams , 150 grams bean sprouts , pepper 4 tablespoons oil (or ordinary oil with 1 chopped pepper ) , 2 tablespoons ground ginger powder, 1 tablespoon ground turmeric , 2 teaspoons ground cumin 2 teaspoons ground coriander , 200g basmati rice , 4 eggs ( hard boiled ) , maybe some fried onions (ready- to-eat in pocket ) .Preparation time: 35 minutes + 1 hour.Wash the chicken thighs , and bring to the boil in a saucepan with the water and bouillon cubes Let by boiling for 30 minutes. Remove the chicken thighs , then the broth and let cool on a plate . Peel and chop the onion and garlic . Wash peppers , dispose of the seed list and cut into small cubes . Wash the leeks and cut through the length : cut here half moons . Wash the green beans and remove the top and bottom : Cut or break the beans into pieces of 1-2 cm . Wash the bean sprouts and drain.
Heat in a large ( soup ) pepper oil pan and fry the onion and garlic until soft ( about 1 minute ) , add the peppers, leeks and green beans and let fry for a few minutes . Add the ginger , turmeric , cumin and coriander and pour the broth . Bring to the boil, then turn the heat to medium . Add the chicken and bean sprouts and let it cook together by 10-15 minutes.
Bring to taste with salt and pepper . Meanwhile, cook the rice according to package directions . Drain the rice and divide among bowls . Pour over the soup , and garnish with a halved boiled egg and some fried onions .

    but me and my Ellendesoep! i have most ingredients, except a couple but will get them All and i will prepare, lay down, prepare, and lay down. prepare and taste.
    Some day i will maybe come to your oh so excellent part of the world where so many wonderful women can be found. and whether they are miserable or not, i will prepare the soup. and we will "break bread".

    Momenteel voel ik mij ook miserabel en misselijk, maar niet van het vliegen (griepje?).
    Toch ga ik mij hier maar niet aan wagen, want ik eet sowieso geen eieren.
